Maria Giacchino works as a producer, publicist, and event manager for the Academy Award winning composer, Michael Giacchino. Their first live to picture projects, Star Trek and Star Trek Into Darkness are touring internationally and were started in conjunction with the 21st Century Orchestra in Lucerne, Switzerland in 2012. These initial shows led to a collaboration with the Film Concerts Live and IMG Artists to present the Star Trek concerts worldwide, where Maria serves as producer.  In 2016, Maria produced the first live to picture premiere of a film, Star Trek Beyond in conjunction with Film Concerts Live, Live Nation, IMAX and Paramount Studios at San Diego Comic Con.  Jurassic World, another venture with Film Concerts Live, is currently in production.

In 2016, Maria produced the definitive LOST: We Have to Go Back Concert with Musicians at Play at the Ford Theatres in Los Angeles. The evening was a tribute to the music and themes of the Emmy Award winning iconic TV show LOST, and drew fans from around the world. The concert includes live-to-picture scenes, memorable montages, and script readings by actors from the show. This concert will be  presented for anniversaries of the show in the future.

In 2017, Maria produced Michael Giacchino at 50th at the Royal Albert Hall in London. The one night celebration included a musical retrospective of Michael’s works to date, film clips, home movies and numerous special guests. Hosted by Adam Savage of MythBusters and Tested, in person appearances included directors JJ Abrams, Matt Reeves, Carlton Cuse, Gareth Edwards, Andrew Stanton, Pete Doctor and Colin Trevorrow. The highlight of the evening was a surprise sketch by the Great Gonzo of the Muppets.

Immediately following this event, Maria was tapped to produce the 90th Anniversary Oscar Concert performed by the LA Phil. The evening was a retrospective of 90 years of Academy film music, with video montages from a diverse range of films throughout the years. The second act culminated in performances of the 2017 Oscar nominated scores conducted by Carter Burwell, Alexandre Desplat, John Williams and Hans Zimmer.

Maria recently developed a film music concert program for schools with the Education department of the LA Philharmonic that was curated by Michael. Upcoming projects include the live-to-picture premieres of Coco and Up as well as a new stage musical being developed with Michael.

Independent of her work with her brother, Maria has produced Elmer Bernstein’s 95th Birthday concerts with his son Peter Bernstein and John Landis. She also was a producer for the critically acclaimed documentary Germans and Jews.

Maria lives in New York City with her husband and spends lots of time in Los Angeles. She has two boys, Max and Sam.
