Maria Giacchino is a creative producer and event manager in the entertainment industry, collaborating with acclaimed film composers including Michael Giacchino, Laura Karpman, and David Arnold on live performances, albums, and scoring sessions. Her notable productions span North America and Europe, featuring The 90th Anniversary Oscar Concert with the LA Philharmonic, the live-to-picture IMAX world premiere of Star Trek Beyond at San Diego Comic Con, and numerous shows at the Royal Albert Hall. She serves on the Advisory Board of the London Action Festival and is developing several theatrical productions.
Beginning with the 21st Century Orchestra in Lucerne, Switzerland in 2012, Maria pioneered live-to-picture concerts alongside her brother Michael and his music team. This led to a global collaboration with Film Concerts Live and IMG Artists, producing Star Trek concerts worldwide. In 2016, she produced the groundbreaking first-ever live-to-picture film premiere with Star Trek Beyond at San Diego Comic Con, partnering with Paramount Studios, Bad Robot, Live Nation, and IMAX. Her current touring productions include Jurassic World, Coco, Up, Ratatouille, and Werewolf by Night.
In 2016, Maria produced the definitive LOST: We Have to Go Back Concert at the Ford Theatre in Los Angeles, featuring live-to-picture scenes, montages, and script readings from the Emmy Award-winning series. The concert, which drew fans globally, continues to be presented for milestone anniversaries, most recently celebrating the show’s 20th anniversary in Hawaii conducted by Michael and hosted by stars Evangeline Lilly, Henry Ian Cusick and Executive Producer Carlton Cuse.
In 2017, Maria produced Michael Giacchino at 50 at London’s Royal Albert Hall, a one-night celebration featuring a musical retrospective of his work alongside film clips and home movies. Hosted by Adam Savage of MythBusters, the event included special introductions by acclaimed directors JJ Abrams, Matt Reeves, Carlton Cuse, Pete Docter, Colin Trevorrow, Andrew Stanton and Gareth Edwards, with a surprise appearance by the Great Gonzo of the Muppets.
Following her Royal Albert Hall success, Maria produced the 90th Anniversary Oscar Concert with the LA Philharmonic celebrating nine decades of Academy film music, including video montages from a diverse range of films from over the Academy’s history. The evening culminated with performances of 2017’s Oscar-nominated scores, conducted by the composers themselves: Carter Burwell, Alexandre Desplat, John Williams, and Hans Zimmer.
Maria served as producer for the critically acclaimed documentary Germans and Jews. As a founding Advisory Board Member of the London Action Festival, she produces panel discussions and events highlighting music in action films.
Maria lives between New York City and LA with her husband Tom and has two (grown!) children, Max and Sam.
